Ok, the movie was kinda dope... I mean, I didn't expect it to be bad... (definitely wasn't expecting Naturi Naughton to be butt-ass naked!!) but it was cool... it was a good movie to me just because when I saw my man Gravy, I always saw BIG... now Derek Luke was fucking Derek Luke... lol... I mean, he had Diddy down to a science but everytime I saw him, I saw Derek Luke playing Diddy... whenever I saw Gravy, I saw BIG...
The movie could have been a lot better but it could have been a lot worse too... although, with all these people surrounding the project, I was expecting to find out some things I never knew and I really didn't... I mean, not to downplay the movie at all because I think it was great but I thought that was the main force behind a biopic... was to learn more about the man instead of what was put out there... this movie could've been on VH1 or some shit... but I really did love it... when BIG got shot and had the parade through Brooklyn, I had chills, B... like for real... I mean, I was 12 years old when he got shot and when you're 12, I don't think you really feel the ramifications of death... like, I remember being sad but I don't remember much else... watching the movie made me sit there and think like "damn, BIG's really gone..." I mean, I know that's crazy because he's been gone 12 years in March (DAMN, I JUST REALIZED HOW LONG IT HAD BEEN) but that was the first time I was really like "damn, BIG's really not coming back"
The things I remember most about BIG was how much love he got... like... besides the whole beef shit with the West Coast, homie really got crazy love... from women, from niggas, from Brooklyn, from all of New York, from the whole East Coast... like people really loved the nigga...
I see a lot of similarities between me and him... not just because we're both big, black, charismatic motherfuckers but just because like... he really just had his mom, his mom had to deal with breast cancer, he was really just tryin' to make it, he wasn't a bad dude... I guess what bothers me the most is that he died at 24 and who just turned 24? Yeah... it's kinda eerie to me... now of course, I'm not a fucking iconic rapper like he was... LOL... but the fact remains... you can think shit's sweet and still get slumped by anybody... I mean, it's been all this time and we still don't have a murder conviction for BIG... we still don't even have a murder CHARGE...
I know this shit is really sounding crazy random and I didn't mean to get all deep into comparisons and shit but anyway, if you haven't seen it, go see it... it's a great fucking movie... I'm going again on Friday with Lela (I can't wait to see her face when it comes to these sex scenes... hilarious...) I'm about to listen to "Life After Death"
Ya'll niggas be easy...
