I wrote my first ever report on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr... I don't know why but for some reason when I was younger, I put that he was born in 1919 instead of 1929... LOL... I still rememeber that... I've lived all my life on his boulevard in my hometown... and every day, I wonder how things would have gone if he hadn't been killed... would he still have been the great man that people proclaim him to be...? Is his martyrdom what makes his legacy or is actually what the man accomplished while he was still alive? I really don't know... I think it's a little bit of both... I always thought of him and Malcolm X like Biggie and Pac... (not literally, assholes) but you know... are the legacies they left behind that much greater simply because they were killed? I wonder what things would be like if he was still alive... would it be like that Boondocks episode where he eventually turns on Black people and moves to Canada? LOL... I don't really know... I think he would proud of the progress that we've made but overall, he'd be disappointed by how we are portrayed in the media... I think if he was here, other quasi-activists like Al Sharpton wouldn't exist... well maybe they would-- I mean, somebody has to go on television and argue with Bill O'Reilly but I digress... I think MLK would still be out there fighting for us... but all this is hearsay and really just my opinion... but what I DO know though... is that if he were still alive, tears would flood his eyes tomorrow in DC... he would have been 80...
Peace ya'll...
