Hi, My Name Is...

That's one of Em's dopest joints in my opinion... but anyway, on to the business at hand...

A lot of people have been inquiring about the name "Hard Work" and where I got that name from since I'm always claiming to be a lazy motherfucker...

Well the story behind that name has nothing to do with really ME working hard... I got the name from a friend of mine waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day when the only things I worried about were trying to trick girls into liking me enough to see them naked, if anybody was ballin' that day and video games...

We were playing NBA Live and it was the start of the 4th quarter... I was down by 47... well probably not that much, but this is my story so I'ma tell it this way... somebody asks you to explain your name then you can tell the story how YOU wanna tell it... so anyway, I'm down by 57 at the start of the 4th and my boy thinks he's got the game in hand... I'd been murdering him all summer long and this was the closest he'd been to victory... the nigga even had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to forfeit since it was clear that an L was imminent...

Fuck nah, nigga...

Long story short, I came back and won by a last minute three-pointer... the shit was on some storybook-national-championships-kick-it-to-Chalmers-for-the-win type shit... so of course, I'm hopping around calling him a bitch like I always do when I win when in reality I was shaking like a motherfucker inside because I knew if this nigga won, he'd never let me hear the end of it even though I'd slaughtered him fifty-'leven times...

So homie proceeded to say "man, fuck this shit... this is like a fucking job... it's hard work trying to beat you... I quit" So ever since then, when it came to video games, my name has been Hard Work...

So that's how the name originated... this year, I want it to mean I actually busted my ass and worked hard to get things accomplished... whether it be weight loss, wrecking shop in flag football in March, school or whatever... I'm tired of being known as the lazy dude... I want to be known as that dude that busts his ass to get what he wants...
