Let Me Talk about L-O-V-E For A Moment...

Now before ya'll even start, this isn't another random rant about some old LOVE affair or how some girl did me wrong or none of that shit... this one is just about genuine LOVE...

Now, I been getting crazy LOVE off this blog and I want to thank everybody for the support and for reading... but ayo, leave a brotha some comments!! Even if it's just "nigga u crazy" leave me something to let me know ya'll out there... I know of 10-15 people who tell me they read my blog faithfully EVERY SINGLE DAY but ya'll aren't making your presence known... I got like 70 something blogs and only about four comments... ya'll show me some LOVE and leave some comments... for real... I especially wanna show LOVE to my girl Christina who's been my #1 biggest fan since before I even had this fucking blog... matter of fact, when I told her I was gonna start a blog on the 1st of the year, she said she couldn't wait...

Christina picks on me more than any other person (besides MAAAAAAAYBE Jamal... and when they get together, I don't even wanna be there because I'll be the butt of the jokes 10 times outta 10, but I digress...) but she also cheers me on more than anybody else and she told me I need to write five blogs a day... now is that LOVE or what? I've already promised her that when I get back to Raleigh, I'm taking her out to dinner, probably to our spot, 35 Chinese. We LOVE this fucking spot and it's our "special" place LOL... you see, while we have pretty much every personality trait in common, our tastes in food are vastly different... (I love cheese and she thinks it's gross, for example...) but we can agree on two foods: her spaghetti (which is fucking phenomenal... if you've never had it, I advise you to look her up on Facebook or mySpace, become her friend and then ask her to make you some because it's out of this world) and Chinese food... and this one particular spot in Chapel Hill (home of the Tarheels baby!!) is where we always go to get our Chinese fix...

Just to let you know how good this spot is... neither one of us have cars... we take the BUS and it's probably about three hours round trip... (when we don't go Express) that's how good this place is... plus we always people-watch and that shit is beyond entertaining with the two of us... LOL... but anyway... Christina really is my best and oldest friend... I LOVE this girl beyond all comprehension... if we could get to a point where we could be intimate without feeling weird and very much wrong, we'd probably be the best couple on the face of the earth... lol... maybe we should just do it anyway and date other people... that shit would be bomb as hell... I'd always have somebody to double date with and if I wasn't trying to go out, I could sit in the crib, eat spaghetti and chill with my best friend and bug out... that sounds like a pretty good damn plan... Boppa, I know you're reading this... we might need to make that happen... leave a comment and let me know the deal...

Let me also speak on the LOVE of Shakespeare... frankly, I don't have any... well at least, I didn't until today... you see, in my Shakespearean Tragedies class we have to do these selected readings in which we act out a few scenes of a play... (I have to do Romeo & Juliet, Act III next week... I'll let you know how that shit goes... LOL) and today, this particular group of students got up to do the first one... I was just expecting to get my essay grade (I got an 84 but I wrote it in an hour the morning before class, so I'm not really trippin'... it'll be all A's for the rest of the semester anyway), yawn through this little performance, go back to my room and chill but they've really inspired me to want to do well... they really did a good fucking job... like... I'm kinda scared now because I'm not exactly Denzel when it comes to acting... (or Flavor Flav when it comes to acting, for that matter) but I'm going to do what it takes to put on a good performance... I at least want to be interesting... so for the moment, I'm feelin' Shakespeare just a little bit... A LITTLE BIT... by the way, the girl who played Juliet's nurse was CRAZY bad...

Lastly, I wanna speak on the LOVE of people... as you all should know by now, Monday is the observation of Martin Luther King's birthday and Tuesday is the inauguration of our first Black president... to me, it's not ironic that these two dates are right next to each other because God doesn't make any mistakes and he knew these dates would be next to each other when he was creating the world... SO, next week I'm going to be on my civil rights/activist grizzy for a bit... now, you can't tell by this blog but I'm a very strong advocate for people's rights and equal rights... trust me, the last thing you want me to do is get on my soapbox about that particular issue because I can talk all day... I LOVE that shit... but I just wanna say that we all need to go ahead and put forth a little effort to make this a better United States and it starts with our president... the work is not done just because we elected Barack Obama into office, however... the work is just beginning... don't expect him to change America, change yourselves and let THAT change America...

Yeah, I can be that dude sometimes...
